Saudi Arabia has announced a temporary visa relief measure for foreign visitors affected by recent regional travel chaos. The update was shared by the Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia through its official X account on March 25, outlining steps to help stranded travellers regularise their stay. The decision allows certain visit visa holders whose permits have expired to remain legally in the country for a limited period and make exit arrangements without financial penalties.
Exit Deadline Set For April 18
According to the Ministry, the extension is valid until April 18, during which eligible visitors can complete departure formalities. Overstay fines will not be imposed if the process is finished within the permitted timeframe. Authorities described the measure as a time‑bound facilitation introduced due to circumstances that made timely travel difficult for many visitors.
Who Is Covered Under The Extension
The relief applies specifically to holders of visit visas that expired while they were inside Saudi Arabia. The provision is not linked to the original purpose of travel but is limited to visitors currently present in the Kingdom on this visa category. Those who qualify must ensure their status is corrected within the approved window to avoid immigration issues later.
