Istanbul’s promotional advertisement was shown at the most important event in the USA

During the presidential election debates, which are considered the most important event of the year in the USA, promotional advertisements for Istanbul were broadcast. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced that the advertisement, which met viewers on CNN International, was simultaneously broadcast in over 200 countries.

In a written statement from the Ministry, it was noted, ‘With the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), our country made a striking promotional appearance during the presidential election debates in the USA, which are considered the most important event of the year there.

Shown in over 200 countries

The Istanbul advertisements were aired during the first presidential debate broadcast on CNN at 9:00 PM on June 27, 2024. The commercials showcased Turkey’s unique beauties and cultural riches in three different time slots: before, during, and after the program. The first ad, aired during the debate break, caught attention with the slogan ‘Go Turkey.’ These ads were also broadcast in over 200 countries via CNN International, thus reaching a wide global audience and promoting our country.

Reached millions of viewers

The promotional campaign for Turkey, by highlighting the country’s tourist appeal, managed to reach millions of viewers amid the intense interest in the US presidential elections. It was stated that, ‘The campaign will continue until the end of the year, and in addition to Istanbul, other significant tourism destinations in Turkey will be promoted. The campaign will also continue on digital platforms. TGA continues its mission to promote our country’s tourism potential on a global scale, increasing Turkey’s visibility worldwide.’
