According to US media, since January 12, the number of people who have died due to adverse weather conditions nationwide has risen to 59, with the highest fatality count of 19 in Tennessee.
According to local and state officials, deaths have been reported as follows: 9 in Oregon, 6 each in Illinois and Mississippi, 5 each in the state of Washington and Kentucky, 3 in New York state, 2 in Louisiana, and one each in Arkansas, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and New Hampshire.
Freezing temperatures are expected to continue over the weekend, prompting warnings for Americans to be cautious and take necessary precautions.
