Murat Mallı closely examined the unique natural wonders such as Charyn Canyon, Kolsay and Kaindy Lakes. He also observed the region’s tourism assets such as Medeu Ice Skating Rink, Shymbulak Ski Resort, Kok-Tobe Park, the ethnographic village “Huns,” and the Oi-Qaragai Mountain Resort. Throughout the program, comprehensive information about the region’s potential was gathered, and areas open to cooperation were clearly identified.
During his trip, Murat Mallı held important meetings aimed at increasing mutual tourism traffic between Kazakhstan and Turkey, with a particular focus on Fethiye. Evaluations made during the visit emphasized that Fethiye could be an attractive destination for Kazakh tourists in all four seasons.
Commenting on the event, Murat Mallı said:
“The promotion of globally significant destinations like Fethiye is only possible through qualified partnerships and strategic connections. The Kazakh market is extremely valuable in this regard. During the meetings in Almaty, we received very positive signals for strengthening mutual tourism movement.”
Mallı also drew attention to the lack of vision in tourism, stating:
“Unfortunately, powerful destinations like Fethiye have long been subjected to hollow, ineffective promotional projects funded by dues paid to chambers, associations, and institutions. The practice of attending tourism fairs just to provide a few photos for the press and social media is no longer effective. What we need are real connections, genuine marketing, and on-the-ground diplomacy.”
Murat Mallı’s visit to Kazakhstan served as a vivid example of how Fethiye’s tourism can be represented more effectively in alternative markets. The meetings held are expected to lead to concrete collaborations in the near future.
