Uğuz stated that the underground city contains domestic spaces, interconnected galleries, living areas resembling rooms, water wells, a cistern, a winery, hearths, workshops, chimneys, places for lamps for lighting, pantries, storages, ventilation systems, and spaces whose nature is still under investigation.
Uğuz mentioned that with the support of the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, they have expanded the georadar studies in the area, ‘We have detected another underground city about 1 kilometer north of the existing underground city. We have determined that there are tunnel systems connecting these two underground cities. This indicates that the underground city will extend over a much larger area. We will continue our georadar studies in the new year.’
